Takeout delivery is an option if you would like to order food and enjoy it in the apartment. In Riga there are multiple take-out services, however the most popular are “WOLT Food” and “BOLT Food”. Lido – The most famous restaurant chain in Latvia. Traditional good quality fast food concept. There are many Lido restaurants in Riga. We also recommend visiting the main LIDO (in the outskirts). Folk club ”Ala pagrabs” – Bar and restaurant. Traditional Latvian food with a medieval concept, eventual live folk music on Fridays and weekends. Highly recommended for an authentic and affordable experience. Address: Peldu iela 19
Juusu – offers a taste of traditional Latvian cuisine, focusing on classic, time-honored dishes made with care and quality ingredients. The menu features local favorites such as grey peas with bacon, barley sausage, sauerkraut soup, fried Baltic herring, herring with cottage cheese, and traditional desserts like rye bread pudding and semolina mousse. Province – traditional Latvian tavern in Riga serving national dishes prepared according to old family recipes. The menu features hearty classics such as sauerkraut soup with smoked meat, grey peas with bacon, and traditional rye bread dessert. Kozy Eats – Vegan only, many gluten-free options. Café with excellent vegan food that will surprise you, great coffee, delicious baked goods like cakes, pastries, and more, affordable prices, and very friendly staff. Our absolute favorite vegan place in Riga. Address: Blaumaņa iela 34
MiiT Coffe – Speciality coffee / vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free. This café offers cost-friendly breakfast, lunch and dinner offers, vegan baked goods, sandwiches, and even cocktails. Address: Lāčplēša iela 10
Nirvana Raw – Cosy family restaurant, that serves gluten-free and sugar-free vegan and raw vegan food. All desserts are raw vegan. Menu differs daily. Address: Skolas iela 22
Mazā Terapija – A vegan café and bakery located in the city center. On weekdays, it offers a changing lunch menu from 12:00–16:00, followed by a relaxed sit-down dinner menu from 16:00–21:00. Most of the restaurants close by 22:00-24:00, some are open later during the weekends, but if you arrive very late in the evening or already at night and want to get some food, we recommend going to:
Lauvas Nams – it is a simple bistro with all sorts of good Latvian style foods and it is open 00-24. Prices are a bit higher than average bistros in Riga. Address: Brīvības iela 82
Late Night Munchies – serves burgers, pizza, and snacks well into the night. Hours vary depending on the day, so it’s best to check before visiting. Address: Peldu iela 21
